Pamela Curtiss

Born and raised in Berkeley, California to parents who were socialists, pacifists, civil rights activists and educators so was immersed in progressive politics from a young age. 

Taught in Oakland Unified School District for 40 years, everything from Preschool to High School   Served as a teacher on special assignment for 10 of those years where she taught English as a Second Language to newcomers from many countries and implemented mindfulness and conflict resolution programs. 

Spiritual seeker who has studied various religions and spiritual practices, been a member of and sung in the choir of a progressive Christian church and currently practices meditation and attends dharma talks, classes and group meditation sessions at various Buddhist centers. 

Loves singing and dancing, especially with children but also with adults who still have a lot of kid in them. 

Raised two beautiful children and is now serving as “granny nanny” to her precious 17 month and 3 year old granddaughters who bring her endless joy and laughter.
